Montpelier, Vermont

The capital city of Montpelier is known as the “slate state”, so a slate gray palette carries throughout the signage system, and the banners reference the changing of the seasons. Proper consideration of type size is imperative for a project such as this, which involves vehicular signage and needs to be legible from a distance and in passing. Montpelier upholds a very community-involved process for all public projects, and this one is no exception. Numerous town and committee meetings were conducted before moving forward with the final design concept.
